Recommended Anti-Virus Software
Wednesday, September 10, 2008 @ 9:12 pm - Tim MillerOn my home computer I use Trend Micro Internet Security 2008 for my anti-virus software. Anti-virus is a must have for any computer that is running on the internet, or a network somehow connected to the internet. If you do not have anti-virus you should expect some type of virus problem in the near future. Some people look at it as a big investment, and it is. For 3 years of Trend Micro it costs approximately $130. If you consider the costs of having viruses removed at some computer repair places it is well worth it to put it in as preventive maintenance instead of paying the money afterwards and still needing the software. The nice thing about Trend Micro is that it is easy to use, also includes spyware removal, and is used by lots of large companies and well proven. I have tried a lot of different ones out there and Trend Micro works the best for me. www.trendmicro.com

If you want a good free anti-virus I recommend Avast! (http://www.avast.com). They have pay versions too but the free one has kept all of my systems clean for a couple of years now. I also use AdAware 2008 Free (http://lavasoft.com/products/ad_aware_free.php) and Spybot Search and Destroy(http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/index.html). Just some free suggestions if you’re strapped for cash.

I have recently updated my computer to Windows Vista Ultimate 64 Bit. I am very happy with it and have updated the Antivirus software to Trend Micro Internet Security PRO! I am extremely happy with it, haven’t had a single problem with Trend Micro, as long as it on, in years!
